In this Fantasia, I have tightened Offenbach’s proportions by omitting the introduction and all repeats, and by keeping only a playful twist of the original coda.
The piece wears a new harmonic costume, with a few rhythmic pranks added for good measure — a wink to the composer’s irrepressible wit.

Dans cette Fantaisie, j’ai resserré les proportions de la pièce d’Offenbach en élidant l’introduction et les reprises, ne conservant de la coda qu’une pirouette.
L’œuvre revêt un nouvel habit harmonique, enrichi de quelques espiègleries rythmiques — clin d’œil à la verve inépuisable du compositeur.
