Le Cortège ouvre majestueusement ce triptyque dans la force des cuivres marqués par le rythme pointé d’ouverture à la française, le tutti de l’orgue et les ponctuations viriles des timbales. La Légende centrale est une page mélancolique développant une ligne mélodique expressive avec les sourdines des trompettes accompagnées par la voix humaine de l’orgue et le murmure des timbales. Le mouvement conclusif, Fête, est un perpetuum mobile dans un rythme de saltarello débordant de joie. 

The Cortège (procession) opens majestically this triptych in the strength of the brass marked by the dotted rhythm of the ouverture à la française, the tutti of the organ and the viril punctuations of the timpani. The central Légende (legend) is a melancholic movement developing an expressive melodic line with the mutes of the trumpets accompanied by the voix humaine of the organ and the murmurings of the timpani. The concluding movement, Fête (feast), is a perpetuum mobile in a saltarello rhythm overflowing with joy.
