This Aria was originally part of the triptych Prélude, Aria et Gigue for organ by Naji Hakim published by Schott Music. The incipit of the Aria is inspired by a Basque song to the Sacred Heart Jesusen bihotza zoin maitea(The so beloved heart of Jesus). The melody is developed very expressively in a song form. The setting exists in two versions : 1/ for viola quartet and 2/ for cello quartet.
