Cette Fantasia, tient à la fois de la forme libre et de la forme sonate. Elle s’articule en quatre sections de proportions de plus en plus développées. La première de caractère interrogatif, se distingue par ses grappes d’arpèges ascendants culminant sur des accents en accords appoggiatures. La deuxième est une toccata rythmique en 3 + 3+ 2, avec une harmonie évoquant l’esprit de la musique espagnole. La troisième section, plus déclamatoire et modulante développe une écriture en accords avec une période rappelant les arpèges en anacrouse-accents de l’introduction. La section finale contraste par sa modalité majeure. Elle reprend l’écriture de toccata rythmique en 3 + 3 + 2 et dessine une ligne dynamique de plus en plus puissante jusqu’à la conclusion.

This Fantasia combines characteristics of free and sonata forms. It is articulated in four sections of increasingly developed proportions. The first of an interrogative character, is distinguished by its ascending arpeggios clusters culminating in accents in appoggiatura chords. The second is a rhythmic 3 + 3 + 2 toccata, with a harmony evoking the spirit of Spanish music. The third section, more declamatory and modulating, develops a chordal writing with a period reminiscent of the arpeggios in anacrusis-accents of the introduction. The final section contrasts by its major mode. It takes up the rhythmic toccata writing in 3 + 3 + 2 and draws an increasingly powerful dynamic line until the conclusion.
