This Toccata is a proclamation of the Kingdom of our Lord Jesus-Christ, based on the Introit of the Feast of the Epiphany[1]. It introduces another work of the composer, Adoration, (Triptych for voice, flute and organ - Schott) paraphrase of the three first Introits after Epiphany, adoration of the Lord by the angels next to his throne (In excelso throno), by all creatures on earth (Omnis terra adoret te, Deus), by all the angels and Sion (Adorate Deum omnes angeli).

The Toccata develops a set of symphonic variations with virtuoso textures, putting in relief the powerful character of the words of the Gregorian text: Ecce advenit dominator Dominus: et regnum in manu ejus, et potestas, et imperium. Deus, judicium tuum regi da: et justitiam tuam Filio regis. (Behold the Lord the Ruler is come: and the Kingdom is in His Hand, and power, and dominion. Give to the king Thy judgment, O God: and to the king’s Son Thy justice.) (Malachi 3, 1 ; I Chronicles 29, 12 ; Psalm 71, 1, 10, 11).

Cette Toccata est une proclamation de la Royauté de Notre-Seigneur Jésus-Christ, bâtie sur l’Introït de la Fête de l’Épiphanie[2]. Elle introduit une autre œuvre du compositeur, Adoration (Triptyque pour voix, flûte et orgue – Schott), paraphrase des trois premiers Introïts après l'Epiphanie, adoration du Seigneur par les anges près de son trône (In excelso throno), par toutes les créatures de la terre (Omnis terra adoret te, Deus), par tous les anges et Sion (Adorate Deum omnes angeli).

La Toccata développe un ensemble de variations symphoniques avec une écriture virtuose, mettant en relief le caractère puissant tu texte grégorien : Ecce advenit dominator Dominus: et regnum in manu ejus, et potestas, et imperium. Deus, judicium tuum regi da: et justitiam tuam Filio regis. (Voici que vient le Seigneur souverain. Il tient en main la royauté, la puissance et l'empire. Dieu, donne ton jugement au roi, ta justice au fils du roi.) (Malachie 3, 1 ; I Chroniques 29, 12 ; Psaume 71, 1, 10, 11).
