Avetis Gyogchyan, cello
Born in 1964 and educated in Armenia.
In 1993 awarded by Hovarts Association/USA/ for best performance in contemporary music contest.
He was appointed as concertmaster/soloist in many ensembles and orchestras such as Philharmonia
Europa/USA/, Armenian String Virtuosi and many more, also held a contract with ArrivaDiva Artists/UK/ agency as concert artist.
Since 2007 Avetis Gyogchyan contracted with Lebanese Philharmonic orchestra.
His repertoire includes wide range of authors and epochs, such as Bach, Ysaye, Hindemith, Prokofiev, Shostakovich, Saint
-Saens, Tchaikovsky, and many more...
In 2014 Avetis premiered Cello Concerto by Abdallah Masria which is the first opus of such genre in Lebanese
Music History.
In 2020 during benevolent online fundraising Avetis performed Dr. Naji Hakim's newly composed
Prelude et Habanera for Cello Solo and he feels very proud to be dedicatee of these very characteristic pieces.
Avetis Gyogchyan is married to viola player Anna Gyogchyan and have two children.
