Ce concerto suit le plan de l’ouverture à l’italienne - vif, lent, vif. Le premier mouvement met en jeu trois thèmes, respectivement rythmique, oriental, de valse, agencés selon une forme sonate sans développement. Le deuxième mouvement se distingue par un thème initial aux contours chopinesques, suivi d’un thème plus agité et un thème de choral accompagné par une écriture en carillon dans l’aigu du piano. La réexposition donne lieu à une cadenza variant le thème de choral. Le finale est un rondo au refrain joyeux et virevoltant comme une tarentelle. Ses épisodes festifs et dansants se conjuguent avec le perpetuum mobile du refrain et de ses variations, jusqu’à la brillante et lumineuse coda.

This concerto follows the structure of the italian overture - fast, slow, fast. The first movement is a sonata form without development, based on three themes, respectively rhythmical, oriental, waltz. The second movement is characterised by an initial theme with chopinesque-contours, followed by a more agitated theme and a choral-theme accompanied by a carillon in the treble of the piano. The recapitulation includes a cadenza, variation on the choral-theme. The finale is a rondo with a happy refrain twirling as a tarentella. Its festive and dancing episodes are conjugated with the perpetuum mobile of the refrain and its variations, until the brilliant and luminous coda.
