Le P'tit Quinquin is one of the best-loved traditional songs from northern France. Written in 1852 by the Lille poet and songwriter Alexandre Desrousseaux (1820–1892), this gentle lullaby, composed in the Picard dialect, has become an enduring symbol of the cultural heritage of French Flanders and the city of Lille.
